about

I've noticed more and more that those I love are in the glow of screens. I do it too. We have to be careful with technology. It exists as a tool, it's not geography. The goal should be those things we are, those places we flourish. We're at our best in skin and air and rooms, together. That hum between us. That danger and that complete communication. All the nuances and information, the entirety of what it is to be human. The heart is useless without the mind. And visa versa. There's a melancholy in this modern lean, to engage in something that can never be truly smelled or inhabited organically. It's a room full of mirrors in our imaginations, and it's stealing something.

Beneath The Speed And The Noise was initially thought to be a song. It was called More Than Miles.

"There's more than miles,
There's more than miles now,
There's more than miles,
Between you and me..."

I wanted to say that without words. Hence I hit the mute button, and the "song" felt finished.
